Credit Card Charges
Required Notification of Credit Card Charges
Section 2807-k of the New York State Public Health Law was amended. Four Seasons Pediatrics and all medical offices are required to notify you of the following:

No hospital or health care provider shall require credit card pre-authorization or require you to have a credit card on file prior to rendering emergency or necessary medical services, though you can voluntarily have one on file.

Each time a credit card is used to pay for services, you should be aware of the risks of paying for medical services with a credit card; including:

-
Medical bills paid by credit card are no longer considered medical debt.
-
By paying with a credit card, you are forgoing federal and state protections around medical debt.
-
This includes forgoing protections against:
-
wage garnishment and property liens
-
reporting medical debt to credit bureaus
-
limitations on interest rates
-

By presenting your credit card in the office, or using it to pay online, you acknowledge these risks and agree to pay with a credit card. Click I Agree to proceed with payment.
