Oral Thermometer

An oral thermometer is placed in the mouth to measure a child’s body  temperature. Place the thermometer under the tongue with lips closed.  Make sure your child does not bite down on the thermometer. Make sure  that no hot or cold liquids were drunk in the last 15 minutes. Please be  sure not to confuse 100.4 degrees F with 104.0 degrees F by looking at how to read a thermometer. Oral thermometers should not be used for children under five years of age.
