Insurance Update:
Our therapists are now credentialed with MVP and Fidelis Care. We will have an update for other insurers soon. Both counselors have immediate openings. If you do not have either of these insurances, and would like to inquire about your out of pocket expense for counseling services, please call and ask for Barbara Miazga at Extension 105.
China Maisenbacher, LMHC
China Maisenbacher graduated from Medaille College with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and families. China was previously employed at LaSalle School where she worked with both residential and outpatient youth. Her preferred therapeutic technique is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also likes to incorporate play therapy, art therapy, as well as therapeutic based games into her sessions. Before her career as a therapist, she worked as a preschool teacher in an integrated setting (special education and non-classified children). She adores working with children of all ages and feels comfortable working with children as young as 2-3 years old. She lives with her husband and two dogs, Gemma and Deputy.
John Southworth, LMHC
John Southworth graduated from The College of St. Rose with a Masters of Education in Community Counseling. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 21 years of clinical experience. He has experience working with children, adolescents and parents. In addition to working as a counselor, he has 20-years’ experience working as an Advocate for Children with Special Needs and their families helping them navigate the complexities of the Special Education system. He has experience with numerous conditions from anxiety, depression, ADHD, ADD, Asperger’s, Grief and Loss, Bipolar Disorder, Gambling, Substance Abuse Addictions and Smoking/Vaping Cessation. He utilizes a variety of therapies and tailors them to each individual’s needs in order to help them achieve their therapeutic goals.
