Sick Office Visits
SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes the illness known as COVID-19. We will have an accurate rapid test for the virus. Our projected date is September 1st at the present time. We will announce the date once we are sure. In the mean time, we would like to update you regarding children seen for illnesses and symptoms that are potentially signs of the virus.
Children with symptoms that might represent the SARS virus are seen outside. You will be asked to park in the back of the building. Your provider will come see you at your car. If your car has a back that opens, please bring a blanket to drape over the back bumper. We will see you in the back of the car (for younger children we can check them on your lap). If the back of the car is not an option, unbuckle your younger child and place them on your lap. For older children and young adults, we will see them in their seat. Any testing samples will be done outside and then brought inside to run the test. We will have a temporary vinyl structure to see children outside soon.
These strategies help us to reduce spread and we can prevent exposure to our patients and to our staff. This approach will remain in effect during the pandemic.
For Flu Vaccine, we are planning some Drive Through Flu Clinics and will provide more details as soon as we have vaccine and can schedule days to do so.
