Biography
Sarah Fisher, MHC-LP specializes in mental health counseling for children and adolescents. Sarah is a recent graduate of The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY where she earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Sarah is currently under supervision by John Southworth, LMHC while she completes her required licensure hours for New York State. Sarah has always enjoyed working with children and has taught preschool and school aged children in both private and public-school settings while completing her Master’s degree. In these settings, Sarah experienced working with children and families on not only academics but social skills, emotion regulation, and familial changes as well. Sarah is also experienced in counseling individuals who have developmental and behavioral difficulties. Sarah has been working with young children with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD in both school and outpatient settings since 2019. In addition to developmental and behavioral work, Sarah enjoys working with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, relational issues, grief and loss, and adjustment challenges. Sarah primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in her work with children and adolescents, however she also has experience using Applied Behavioral Analysis, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy skills with clients as needed.
